Gasification applications: state of the art analysis and recommendations. Summary of feedback, January 2022
Description
The 100% renewable gas study, published in 2018 by ADEME and GRDF, estimated the maximum potential for producing gas that can be injected into the network by 2050 from biomass and recovered resources. While anaerobic digestion was the main way to contribute to this potential, gasification and power to gas were the two complementary ways methods. Gasification can also be used to produce heat and/or electricity, hydrogen (like power to gas) and liquid fuels (biodiesel, biokerosene). Apart from the work of the IEA Bioenergy, which is international in scope, few publications assess the relative relevance of the different gasification processes, nor do they contain consolidated and detailed feedback from existing projects. The present study aims at establishing a more in-depth analysis of the different existing processes through available bibliographic sources and projects. (authors)

L'etude 100 % gaz renouvelable, publiee en 2018 par l'ADEME et GrdF, estimait les potentiels maximums de production de gaz injectable sur le reseau a l'horizon 2050 a partir de ressources biomasse et de recuperation. Si la methanisation representait la voie majoritaire de contribution a ce potentiel, la gazeification et le power to gas en constituaient les deux voies complementaires. La gazeification permet egalement des applications de production de chaleur et/ou d'electricite, de production d'hydrogene et de carburants liquides (biogazole, biokerosene). Hormis les travaux de l'AIE Bioenergie, de portee internationale, peu de publications apprecient la pertinence relative des differentes filieres de gazeification, ni ne contiennent de retours d'experience consolides et detailles des projets existants. La presente etude s'efforce d'etablir une analyse plus approfondie des differentes filieres existantes au travers des sources bibliographiques et projets disponibles. (auteurs)
