Repetitive rate flash X-ray generator with photo conductive semiconductor switches
- 1. Key Laboratory of Pulsed Power, Institute of Fluid Physics, CAEP, Mianyang (China)
Description
A repetitive rate flash X-ray generator was developed recently to meet the demands in scientific research and industrial area. A repetitive pulsed power supply was fabricated with GaAs photo conductive semiconductor switches and stacked Blumlein pulse forming networks to drive industrial X-ray diode, and a novel X-ray diode was proposed with spoked metal ceramic flashover cathode. The results show that 2 pulse burst X rays were generated under 1 kHz frame rate with novel cathode, and the two power pulses of diode and X-ray signals were identical. (authors)
