Analysis of gasification ways for Piton Saint-Leu CFPPA and at the regional scale, Reunion Island
Description
As a professional training centre (the CFPPA) located in the Piton-Saint-Leu (Reunion Island) has initiated a project of installation of a gasification unit in order to experiment the technology on local available biomass, and to become a pedagogical and demonstration tool for the development of renewable energies on the island, this report presents the result of a preliminary study for a geographical, economic and environmental assessment of potential processes of gasifications for the supply of the CFPPA platform. This study comprises an assessment of biomass availability which allowed supply and electric power production scenarios to be developed, an assessment of power generation cost according to these scenarios, and an assessment of environmental impacts of these scenarios through a life cycle analysis
