Description

The profile of a laser pulse necessary to produce a concentric and eccentric wave moving in plasma at constant velocity is determined. Such solutions are essential for the construction of approximate solutions of the problem of laser compression of plasma, because they enable us to assess the conditions, under which the assumption of constant velocity of the thermal wave (which simplifies considerably the solution) is justified.
