Radiolysis of extraction system on the basis of tri-n-butylphosphate solutions in hydrocarbon diluents

Description

Radiation-chemical transformations in extraction system 30% TBP-n-undecane-3.0 mol/l nitric acid in the presence of uranyl nitrate and without it as well as in systems 30% TBP-n-paraffin-3.0 mol/l nitric acid, in which dodecane, tridecane, hexadecane and heptadecane are used as diluents, are studied. Extraction system irradiation was performed using a gamma source with 1.7-2.0 Gy/s dose rate. Diluent and extragent radiolysis product composition is ascertained and their accumulation in an organic phase depending on absorbed dose within 0.05-2.8 MGy interval is determined by chromatomass-spectrometry using thin-layer chromatography method. Such bifunctional materials as alkylphosphates, containing nitro- and hydroxyl groups in alkyl radical, are detected among extragent radiolysis products. Radiation chemical yields of the following diluent radiolysis products are evaluated: alcohols, ketones, nitroalkanes, alkylnitrates and hydrocarbon diluent molecule dimers
