Description

Two types of halogen G-M detectors with compensated energy response to gamma and X radiation have been fabricated and tested at IPNE-Lab.7. The detectors are extensively used in health physics instruments in order to measure the exposure rate of an X or gamma radiation field with an energy spectrum insufficiently known. The main characteristics of the G-02F / G-100F detectors, respectively are: -plateau (V), 150 / 150; -slope (%/100V ), 10 / 15; -background (imp/s), 0.2 / 0.1; -dead time (μs), 120 / 25; -response to reference energy (imp·s-1/mR·h-1), 28 / 1; -energy response from 60 KeV to 1.3 MeV (%) ±25 / ±25; -range of operation (mR/h), 0.1 to 200 / 10 to 105; -life (imp), 1010 / 1010.
