Study into proton magnetic resonance spectra of cadmium tungstates

  • 1. Donetskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The PMR spectra of cadmium tungstates of the composition CdOxWO3xH2O, CdOx2WO3x4.5H2O and CdOx2.4WO3x6H2O consist at 93 deg K of a narrow and broad line with a shoulder in the region (10-11) Gs whose amplitude is 1.5-2 times more than that for the water molecules with a parameter of intermolecular interaction β=1.0-1.8 Gs. The study of dehydration by PMR makes it possible to establish that a part of water molecules is arranged by groups with a strong intermolecular interaction. The deformed water molecules have been found whose deformation consists in a decrease of an interproton distance by 0.13 A as compared to a free water molecule. The formulae of the compounds have been proposed and the nature of water molecule mobility has been established
