Description

An economical discretization of the Skyrme model on a cubic lattice is used to calculate static multisoliton solutions. Previously known solutions corresponding to baryon numbers B=1 and 2 are reproduced and new solutions corresponding to B=3, 4, 5 and 6 are found. Surfaces of constant baryon number density are presented and reveal the rich internal structure of the new solutions. In particular, the pion fields describing the solutions with B=3 and 4 are found to possess tetrahedral (anti 43m) and octahedral (m3m) symmetry, respectively. (orig.)
