Plate Bridge in humerus. Perspective of a technique

A revision of the upper lumbar anatomy was made including the described anatomical approaches, bony specimens and the dissection of 16 cadavers (32 arms) of the morphology's department of del Valle University. Following the internal projection of Henry's approach and the deltopectoral, approach it was a safe corridor for the slip of a narrow plate, DCP 4.5, or one in golf stick modeled, keeping in mind the muscular inserts, the neurovascular structures, specifically the axillary nerve and the radial one and the configuration of the humerus. With that base they were carried out between October of the 2001 and may of the 2002, six surgeries; three in women and three in men of 24 to 56 years, patients with fractures of the diaphysis and of the union between the diaphysis and the metaphysis of the humerus, to achieve the same benefits of the system of bridge plate observed in the inferior member's long bones with minimum incision. Excellent consolidation of the fractures was obtained with the bridge plate's technique, and a good function of the extremity and indemnity of the mentioned nerves.
