Investigation of high spin states in 23Na and 23Mg and the 12C+12C resonance at E = 19.3 MeV (c.m.)

Description
The resonance in the 12C+12C system at E c.m. = 19.3 MeV has been studied in the neutron and proton decay channels. From (p,γ), (n,p) and (n,γ) coincidence measurements high spin states could be localized in A = 23 nuclei, in 23Mg up to possibly 21/2+. These states were resonantly populated. The present data favor Jπ = 17/2+ for the 9.61 MeV state in 23Mg and therefore also for the probable parent state at 9.81 MeV in 23Na. A Jπ = 12+ assignment to the resonance is supported and evidence was found that the resonant exitation of the lowest 15/2+ and 17/2+ states in mass 23 nuclei is caused by a change of the intrinsic structure of the Yrast levels around Jπ = 15/2+ towards larger deformation. Abstract (German)
Die Resonanz bei E c.m. = 19,3 MeV im System 12C+12C wurde in den Neutron- und Proton-Zerfallskanaelen untersucht. Aus (p,γ), (n,p) und (n,γ) Koinzidenzmessungen konnten Hoch-Spin-Zustaende in A = 23-Kernen in 23Mg bis zu moeglicherweise 21/2+ lokalisiert werden. Die Zustaende waren resonant bevoelkert. Die vorliegenden Daten sprechen fuer Jπ = 17/2+ fuer den Zustand bei 9,61 MeV in 23Mg und damit auch fuer den wahrscheinlichen Ausgangszustand bei 9,81 MeV in 23Na. Eine Zuordnung von Jπ = 12+ fuer die Resonanz wird unterstuetzt, und es fanden sich Anzeichen dafuer, dass die Resonanzanregung der tiefstliegenden 15/2+- und 17/2+-Zustaende in Kernen der Masse 23 durch eine staerkere Deformation in der intrinsischen Struktur der Yrastniveaus um Jπ = 15/2+ ausgeloest wird.
