Description
With the development of computer performance and numerical methods, the fluid-structure interaction method is more and more used for seismic analysis of large-scale liquid storage tanks in engineering. However, it is found that there are significant differences in the vibration modes of fluid sloshing, the effective mass of the vibration modes and the stress distribution of tank by the fluid-structure interaction method and the mass-spring method. In this paper, the difference between the two methods is compared with the seismic response of the storage tank in the nuclear power plant, and the reason of the difference in the vibration modes of fluid sloshing, the effective mass of the vibration modes and the stress distribution of the tank is determined.
