Description
Pregnant females were exposed to a gamma irradiation of 150 rads on day 15 of gestation. The data obtained indicated that foetal irradiation reduced the weight of pituitary and adrenal glands. Nevertheless, the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal system of adult rat was not influenced by the foetal exposure. The normal endocrine activity of adult rat, in spite of the damage caused during foetal stage, seemed to be due to biological repair
