Application of MR to the study of the inner ear

Description
Recent advances in MR techniques allow the study of inner ear pathology of previously unknown characteristics. Using sequences that enhance fluid collections (SSFP 3D sequences), we are able to view the different portions of the membranous labyrinth, owing to the strong signal produced by the endolymph, and to differentiate the components of the cranial nerve VII-VIII complex.
