Description
Design of main control system for nuclear signal acquisition based on FPGA was introduced. The functions are all implemented in the FPGA including communicating with the computer, controlling sampling of ADC, threshold discrimination and storage of digital nuclear signal, etc. Threshold and the ADC registers can be set online. The whole control system including a memory (FIFO) is implemented in a FPGA. The hardware of the system is simple and the power consumption is low. The performance of the instrument is improved effectively and the size is reduced also. (authors)
