Description
A model of a three-level atom V-configuration interacting with a two-mode field through the mechanism of multi-photon transition is studied. The effects of mean photon numbers, detuning, and the Kerr-like medium parameters are investigated within various forms of the intensity-dependent coupling functional. Analytical expressions for the time evolution and the reduced atomic density operators of the system are obtained in the context of the framework of the dressed states. The atom is prepared in its uppermost excited state and the fields are prepared in binomial states. General conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results. (paper)
