Description
For the first time, the effect of isospin symmetry breaking on quantum chaos is demonstrated for a realistic shell-model spectrum. Breaking the isospin via the Coulomb interaction shifts the fluctuation pattern from the intermediate case between Poisson and GOE toward GOE statistics, but the latter is not fully restored. This result is in accordance with recent analysis of experimental data for 26Al. (orig.)
