Vacuum polarization, source and otherwise
Description
The author concentrates on some of the methods used to attack problems in vacuum polarization in spinor QED; Schwinger's proper-time method; Pauli-Villars' regularisation technique; Kaellen's dispersion relations procedure and Schwinger's source method. He elaborates on the first and last methods, underlining the technical advantages of source-versus-operator field theory. (V.J.C.)
