Geochronological synthesis of Bahia state and the crustal evolution, based in evolution diagram of Sr and initial rate of Sr87/Sr86

Description

The crustal evolution of the ancient terrains of the State of Bahia, Brazil, is attempted with the aid of Sr isotopic results as natural tracers. Some Nd and Pb isotopic data are also available, and support the main conclusions based on Sr evolution diagrams. The analysis of the Sr evolution diagrams shows that the Archean Terrains are mainly formed by accretion from mantle-derived material, but crustal reworking is indicated by the high initial 87Sr/86Sr value of the Jequie Complex. The Transamazonian mobile belt include both types of materials, but the 87Sr/86Sr value, generally lower than those of the Jequie Complex, markes improbable a direct derivation. During Middle and Late Proterozoic, the continental crust was already well consolidated, and reworking of crustal material predominated within the Espinhaco and Brasiliano folded systems

Abstract (Portuguese)

Com a aplicacao de metodos convencionais (analise bibliografica e trabalhos de laboratorios), foi possivel, como uma primeira tentativa, elaborar-se uma evolucao crustal e uma sintese geocronologica para o territorio baiano (parte nordeste do Craton de Sao Francisco). Na elaboracao de evolucao crustal, foram utilizados diagramas de evolucoes do Sr. Nestes diagramas utilizam-se parametros como (87Sr/86Sr)i, idade e relacao 87SRb/86Sr. As medidas das razoes iniciais do Sr sao extremamente criticas, isto e, a variacao da RI do manto, desde os primordios da formacao da Terra, a 4,55 Ga., ate hoje, e apenas da ordem de 0,005 (0,699 a 0,704). Para atender esta finalidade, foi efetuado um levantamento bibliografico completo, sobre diversas tecnicas de regressao linear, e uma avaliacao dos modelos existentes. A razao inicial do Sr foi utilizada como tracador radiogenico natural, nos estudos das petrogeneses das rochas, tendo sido, em alguns casos, complementados com idades modelos Sm/Nd e valores de u1 (238U/204Pb). Quanto a sintese geoconologica, foi baseada nos trabalhos anteriores, existentes na area em estudo, integrando-os com os novos dados radiometricos
