Mixed Cs-137 aerosols with ammonium chloride
Description
Behaviour of Cs-137 in the course of ammonium chloride formation from vapour-gas medium has been studied. It is shown that in the presence of carrier (1 mg CsI) radioactive aerosols of two forms are formed: 137CsI and cesium sorbed on oxides of metals contained in substrate of radioactive aerosol generator. Both forms can form mixed micelles with aerosols of ammonium chloride. Ability of 137Cs to form mixed aerosols with nonradioactive macrocomponents can be used for elimination of aftereffects of NPP accidents. 7 refs.; 3 figs.; 2 tabs
