Carbon isotope compositions of graphite and carbonate in 3.8 x 109 years old Isua rocks
Description
The graphite from the eastern and western belts of the Isua supracrustals showed the δ13C values in a narrow range from - 8.0 to - 10.9 per mille, while the contents of the graphite vary in the rocks. Carbonates in the separate rocks gave the values between - 5.0 and - 5.6 per mille. These values are of the oldest terrestrial materials available. (author)
