Description
This paper investigates the electrochromism of cathodically coloring tungsten oxide and anodically coloring nickel oxide films in liquid electrolyte experiments and all-solid-state devices (ASSDs). Coloration efficiencies (CE) have been determined for films deposited by reactive evaporation which are independent of the type of electrolyte. Characteristic current-voltage and transmittance-voltage graphs of ASSDs with different layer combinations could be simulated in two-electrode arrangements in liquid electrolyte experiments. The influence of different electrolytes and the counter electrode processes in two-electrode cells is discussed
