On two-jet production of heavy quarks in the e+e- annihilation

Description

Differential cross sections for production of heavy quarks and gluons in the e+e- annihilation are calculated up to the first-order terms in the strong interaction coupling constant. It is shown in the considered order for αsub(s) that the distribution of heavy quarks Q in z=psub(Q)/psub(Qsub(max)) is concentrated in the region of I-z <= μ/msub(Q) (μ approximately 0.5 GeV), if the total energy √s is not too high (where Psub(Q) is the Q quark momentum, msub(Q) is the Q quark mass, μ is the characteristic value of hadronic mass, and αsub(s) is the coupling constant of the strong interaction).
