SLIM/SVD - a computer code for evaluation of system-level importance measures in probabilistic safety analysis of nuclear power plants

  • 1. Korea Advanced Energy Research Institute, Taejon (Korea, Republic of)

Description

Reliability importance measures in probabilistic safety analysis(PSA) of a nuclear power plant is very useful in identifying those 'features' (e.g., components, systems, or functions, depending on the interests of the analyst) that are more 'important' than others with regard to the final attribute. Here, the final attribute can be system unavailability in case of evaluating performance of a system, or core damage frequency, radioactive release, or health effects in case of measuring overall performance of a nuclear power plant. For a demonstration of the present method that uses the SVD the system-level importance measures were calculated for the sample problem
