Possibilities of high-resolution CT in the diagnosis of facial trauma

Description
The indications for high resolution CT scanning in facial trauma are discussed. Diagnostic progress concerns fractures of the orbit in cases with posttraumatic amaurosis. Further hints are provided by CT for the management of facial trauma not obtainable in every single case by plain X-ray studies. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Indikationen fuer eine hochaufloesende CT bei Gesichtsschaedelverletzungen werden diskutiert. Ein Fortschritt in der Diagnostik ergibt sich bezueglich der Differentialdiagnose der posttraumatischen Amaurose. Fuer die Behandlung ergeben sich auch bezueglich der uebrigen Verletzungen Hinweise, die von Nativaufnahmen allein nicht in allen Faellen abgeleitet werden koennen. (orig.)Additional details
