Magneto science by symphonic use of quantum beams. What is the part of neutron beam?

  • 1. Tohoku Univ., Advanced Inst. for Materials Research, Sendai, Miyagi (Japan)

Description

By the end of 2008 intense pulsed neutron beam from the J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex) will be provided for users, which is expected to create a new paradigm in the field of magnetism and magnetic materials. In parallel, other quantum beam probes such as synchrotron and muon beams have made a great progress as complementary probes. In this report, we discuss the role of neutron scattering for the study of magnetic materials by symphonic use of different quantum-beam probes. (author)
