The line-spring model has been successfully applied to the analysis of surface cracked plates and shells. However, the embedded crack and the slightly emerged surface crack usually occur in nuclear engineering structures, especially in weldment. This paper focuses on the application of line-spring model to the analysis of embedded crack and slightly emerged surface crack problems
