A versatile radiotherapy treatment chair
- 1. Stanford Univ., CA (USA). Dept. of Radiology
Description
A chair unit is described which provides for flexibility in the set-up and treatment of seated patients, including arc and full rotational therapy. It has been in use for ten years and incorporates motorized rotational and X-Y translational motions. The chair motion mechanism is completely below floor level, facilitating easy access to the patient. It has been found particularly useful for head and neck treatments where individually tailored fields are defined by Cerrobend shields. (U.K.)
