The application of the Karlsruhe radon diffusion chamber in sub-surface uranium exploration

Description

The Karlsruhe radon diffusion chamber is a passive radon dosimeter designed originally for environmental monitoring radon and its decay products. In this work, the application of this dosimeter has been extended to the sub-surface exploration of uranium. Experiences show that the dosimeter is quite suitable for field measurements and the presence of two detector elements facilitates the confirmation of the data. The results are given in contour maps showing the relative distribution of radon concentrations in two different areas. Some analysis are given about the relative depths of the ore bodies and their configuration. (author)
