Contribution of secondary radiation in experimental animal irradiation
Description
In this study, a reproducible method has been described for the simultaneous irradiation of the heads of 14 rats with Co-60-gamma radiation. The radiation doses were monitored at different sites in the animal body, using two measurement systems: (1) thermoluminescence dosimetry and (2) ionisation dosimetry; using a 0.6 ml ionisation chamber. A difference of 3% was noticed between the two measuring systems within an exposure range, between 20 and 2000 c Gy.1 tab., 1 fig
