Polarization measurements in kaon electroproduction

Description
Kaon electroproduction was studied at Jefferson Lab with a 2-4 GeV unpolarized electron beams. The high beam intensity and the good precision in particle identification permitted a good Λ production reaction channel separation. The possibility of measuring the Λ polarization by using the decay protons in coincidence with the electro-produced kaons was checked. Apart the small statistics, the experimental data and the agreement with a Monte Carlo simulation prove the feasibility of such recoil polarization measurements in polarized and unpolarized electron beam experiments.
