Dynamic effect in diffusion scattering of thermal neutrons at small-dislocation germanium crystal

Description

Dynamic effects in the diffusion scattering (DS) of thermal neutrons at almost perfect crystals of germanium are studied. The investigation is carried out by means of the Bragg topography method based on spatial scanning of the emission scattered by the crystal-sample at falling on it the narrow monochromatic neutron beam in the Bragg-geometry diffraction. The results of the observation of dynamic distributions of the DS intensity in the momentum space are presented. It is concluded that the anomalous DS distribution and beats of the diffusion emission are caused by the presence of the coherent interaction of strong Bragg and diffusion waves in crystals

Abstract (Russian)

Изучаются динамические эффекты в диффузном рассеянии (ДР) тепловых нейтронов на почти совершенных кристаллах германия. Исследование проведено с помощью метода брэгговской топографии, основанной на пространственном сканировании рассеянного кристаллом-образцом излучения при падении на него узкого монохроматического пучка нейтронов в геометрии дифракции по Брэггу. Представлены результаты наблюдения динамических распределений интенсивности ДР нейтронов в импульсном пространстве. Сделан вывод, что аномальное распределение ДР и и биения диффузного излучения обусловлены наличием когерентного взаимодействия сильных брэгговских и диффузных волн в кристалле
