Assessment of the effect of surgical intervention on the left ventricular performance in various valvular disorders by radionuclide angiocardiography

Left ventricular peformance of patients with valvular disorders was assessed using radionuclide angiocardiography before and after the surgery. Ejection fraction of left ventricle, regional ejection fraction, wall motion and phase analysis were calculated from the data of Tc-99m-HSA angiocardiography in each patient. The majority of patients who underwent the operation of valve plasty showed a significant improvement of ejection fraction of left ventricle. In some patients who had abnormal phase before surgery, improvement of this pattern was obtained
