Luminescent properties and crystal structure of novel benzanthrone dyes

Description

The crystal structures and spectral-luminescent properties of novel intensely luminescent derivatives of benzo[de]anthracen-7-one were studied in the solid state and in solution. The single crystals made by crystallization from benzene with two derivatives - 3-pyrrolidinobenzanthrone and 3-N,N-diacetylaminobenzanthrone - have been studied. Intense yellow-green luminescence is observed by fluorescence microscopy in crystalline samples of 3-N,N-diacetylaminobenzanthrone. In addition, crystal structures of studied compounds have been investigated by X-ray diffraction methods.
