Description

NbOPO4x3H2O (1) composition hydrated niobium oxyphosphate is synthetized via boiling down of niobium oxide solutions in hydrofluoric or nitric acid with phosphoric acid. The parameters of the elementary cell of the prepared compound are as follows: a=12.249(3), b=1.249(3), c=16.288(3) A, γ=90.740(5) deg. NbOPO4xH2O (2) and NbOPO4 (3) are prepared, as well. By means of 1H NMR it is shown that 1 and 2 contain two hydroxyl groups per formula unit, representing Nb(OH)2PO4x2H2O and Nb(OH)2PO4. Mobility of proton-containing groups in these compounds is studied. Transition enthalpy of protons in a mobile state for 1 and 2 constitutes 17±2 kJ/mole, while activation energy of translational mobility-24±2 and 44±2 kJ/mole, respectively. 7 refs., 3 figs., 2 tabs
