Effective radiation dose to the population of the Altaj Republic from nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk site
Description
Results on retrospective evaluation of the effective radiation dose to the population of the Altaj Republic due to the radioactive fallout during nuclear tests conducted at the Semipalatinsk test site are presented. The nuclear explosions, which influenced the territory and the population of the Altaj Republic are determined, the levels of contamination of the above region by the basis biologically significant radionuclides are estimated; the effective radiation doses to the population are obtained and the unfavorable radiation-induced consequences are evaluated. 1 tabs.,6 figs
