Description

The patent describes a method of solidifying waste slurries containing high concentrations of boric acid :greater than 30% by weight:. The process could be used in solidifying nuclear wastes. The method involves adding sodium metasilicate to the waste slurry in the ratio of 1 part boric acid slurry to 0.1 - 0.4 parts sodium metasilicate, by weight and mixing. A dry, hard product is formed. (U.K.)
