Precise proton structure determination from inclusive DIS and heavy flavor production at HERA

Description
In this manuscript recent results on the proton structure from the ZEUS and H1 collaborations are presented. Measurements are based on the HERA collider data taken during 2004-2007. New measurements of the inclusive structure function, xF3, and F2γZ from the neutral current processes are covered. Beside the inclusive data, heavy flavor sector was studied in terms of the charm contribution, F2cc-bar to the structure function F2. The charm quark was studied with reconstruction of D*, D+ meson decays and by secondary vertexes tagging techniques. The measurements are described by the Standard Model QCD predictions. (author)
