Orbiting effects in the inelastic scattering of protons to the continuum
Description
The persistent positive analyzing powers in the backward hemisphere for moderate energy (p vector, p') reactions to the continuum are found to be reproduced by one-step DWBA calculations. An analysis of these calculations shows that the effect arises from protons incident on one side of the nucleus and leaving on the other. (orig.)
