Research and technical problems in nuclear power development in the USSR
Creators
Description
Main tasks and ways of the USSR nuclear power development are presented in short. Fundamental problems are considered in developing base reactor types: water-water reactors of the WWER type and boiling channel reactors of the RBMK type. Main ways are indicated for improving the NPP basic equipment: steam generators and separators, as well as ways of NPP power unit standardization. Problems of power-and-heat supply are considered. Main plans for using high temperature gas-cooled reactors in power engineering are given as well
