Thymic hyperplasia after treatment of Cushing's syndrome

Description
The sudden resolution of hypercortisolism induces the appearance of thymic hyperplasia. This had never been described by PET/CT with 18F-FDG. This examination would therefore make it possible, through the scanographic aspect associated with the moderate hyper-fixation of the tracer with a characteristic inverse 'V' aspect, to orient towards benignity and avoid surgery for histo-pathological confirmation. A remote control PET/CT with 18F-FDG makes it possible to ensure the regression of the thymic infiltrate

La resolution brutale d'un hypercortisolisme induit l'apparition d'une hyperplasie thymique. Ceci n'avait jamais ete decrit en TEP/ TDM au 18F-FDG. Cet examen permettrait donc, par le biais de l'aspect scanographique associe a l'hyperfixation moderee du traceur avec un aspect caracteristique en 'V' inverse, d'orienter vers la benignite et d'eviter une chirurgie pour confirmation histopathologique. Une TEP/TDM au 18F-FDG de controle a distance permet de s'assurer de la regression de l'infiltrat thymique. (auteurs)Additional details
