Thorium and uranium chalcogenides: crystallographic and magnetic study of U2S5 type compounds - existence of a thorium triselenide ThSe3
Description
Th2S5 type compounds are shown from single crystal investigations to crystallize in the orthorhombic system, space group Pcnb. U2S5 orders magnetically at T < 180K with the appearance of a weak ferromagnetic component. The new thorium polyselenide ThSe3 has been isolated; it crystallizes in the ZrSe3 type structure. (author)
