Projectile momentum spectroscopy in singly ionizing p + He collisions

  • 1. Department of Physics and the Laboratory for Atomic, Molecular and Optical Research, University of Missouri-Rolla, Rolla, MO 65401 (United States)

Description

We have measured the projectile momentum distributions for single ionization in 50 to 150 keV proton-helium collisions as a function of both the longitudinal and the transverse momentum component. Furthermore, we calculated these distributions using the classical trajectory Monte Carlo (CTMC) method, and found good agreement with the experimental data. Our results are consistent with experimental data for the momentum distribution of the ionized electron. (author). Letter-to-the-editor
