Waste form testing results for DOE and commercial power reactor wastes
Description
The author's company has developed a new asphalt for stabilization of low-level radioactive waste and mixed waste. This asphalt, called High Strength Asphalt, retains the high leach resistance typical of other asphalts used in this application, and also provides a mechanical strength heretofore unachievable for asphalt waste forms. This paper reports the available test data from the stability testing currently ongoing with this new asphalt
