Induction of late expressed lethal mutations by radiation in synchronised CHO-KI cells as a function of cellular multiplicity and time post plating

Description

The results presented clearly show that in synchronous populations of CHO-KI cells, no lethal mutations can be observed if the cells are irradiated at any time during the first cell cycle post plating. Increasing numbers of lethal mutations were seen during the second cell cycle. These results suggest that cell cycle phase at the time of irradiation is not involved in the mechanism leading to lethal mutation induction if only single cells are irradiated. (author)
