Device for detecting leaks in the cooling water circuit of electric machines

Description

An improvement for detecting leacks in the cooling water circuit of electric machines is proposed permitting the detection of porous zones and small leacks within a very short time already during their formation. This is achieved by mounting a feeding device for adding tritium as an indicator on the inlet pipe for the cooling water and connecting a pipe to the machine housing by which a partial flow of the cooling gas pipe is fed to a measuring instrument for detecting tritium which may arise. Abstract (German)

Es wird eine Verbesserung zur Ermittlung von Leckstellen im Kuehlwasserkreislauf elektrischer Maschinen vorgeschlagen, die es erlaubt, schon das Entstehen von Undichtigkeiten und kleinen Lecks sofort festzustellen. Man erreicht dies, indem an die Zufuehrungsleitung fuer das Kuehlwasser eine Einspeisevorrichtung zur Zugabe von Tritium als Indikator angebracht wird und an das Maschinengehaeuse eine Leitung angeschlossen ist, durch die ein Teilstrom der Kuehlgasleitung einem Messgeraet zur Ermittlung eventuell auftretenden Tritiums zugefuehrt wird.
