Description
A radiochemical method for the estimation of 233U in urine is described. For the selective separation of 233U, a mixture of HCl and HClO4 were used as eluent in the ion exchange process. The concentration and composition of the acid mixtures were optimised to get maximum percent recovery. Interference due to Pu4+, Am3+, Th4+ and Fe3+ ions in the estimation of 233U was studied. Reproducibility and minimum detectable amount of this method were also described in this paper. Feasibility of applying this method for F, M and S type compounds of 233U was studied. (author)
