Probabilistic string interactions in hA and AB collisions

Description
The probabilistic model of interacting strings is generalized to hA and AB collisions at high energies. In the model strings fuse as soon as they overlap in the transverse area available, forming a new type of strings, which have greater colour and fragment with higher transverse momentum and heavy flavour content. Different observables for hA collisions are evaluated, such as total and inclusive cross sections, particle distributions and correlation functions. Predictions for the inclusive cross sections are very sensitive to string interactions. (orig.)
