Plastic deformation effect on mechanical properties and structure of Mg - 3.6% Sm alloy

Possibility of additional improvement of strength properties of magnesium-samarium alloy due to plastic strain, was investigated. It is shown that improvement of strength properties of aging magnesium-samarium alloys can be achieved by plastic strain (ε ∼ 5%) at room temperature or at 200 deg C, performed before aging
