ESR of thermally populated Er3+ excited states in garnets

Description
ESR of thermally populated excited levels of rare-earth ions in (Y1-xLux)3Al5O12 and Lu3Al5O12 garnets is investigated in detail. ESR new spectra in Y3Al5O12 are shown to belong to Er3+ ion excited states, and ESR of erbium excited states is detected in Lu3Al5O12 crystals and (Y1-xLux)3Al3O12 where 0≤ x ≤ 1 mixed garnets
