Scintillation counter with maximum large effective area
Description
Application of scintillation counters with an extremely high value of effective area permits to essentially increase statistical accuracy of measurements at relatively low value of electron equipment falling on the unit of effective area. Mode of operation of the scintillation counter, at which its effective area is maximum, is determined. Results of investigation into the counter with maximum effective area equal to 2 m2 are presented, satisfactory agreement of the calculated values of this area with the experiment is noted. A possibility of developing large scintillation counters with effective area of the order of several dozens square meters is shown
